I've given up. I guess Rachel's supposed to be ahead of me in post count (I almost wrote "pitch count" Who watches too much baseball??) because after posting and leaving comments on a few layouts, I lost my connection and couldn't get it back. I'm using a neighbor's connection right now while my wireless figures out how to work again.

So Rachel, you win. But I MIGHT beat you to 2000...you never know :22:

RachelS
06-01-2006, 03:23 PM
lol... sorry charlene! i hate it when that happens. we used to be using our neighbor's connection too... but i hated the unreliability and the fact that it wasn't supposed to be a temporary thing... and that they didn't know about it... so i made DH start paying for DSL.

as for the mohawk... i told him he could get one after aunt kelly's wedding (July 1st) if his hair is long enough.

Wow- you are a cool mom Rachel! I figured you would say no (because that's what I would do- scared of crazy over here! I'm pretty boring... but kinda funny- don't forget that... oh and SUPER!)

RachelS
06-01-2006, 03:28 PM
lol! it's not like he's in school or anything. and if i decided i don't like it anymore, i'll just buzz it off. i do his haircuts on the back porch anyhow...

I agree. Not sure I could do a mohawk (I'm sure Jasmine is glad http://www.techhelpers.net/e4u/comp/comp11.gif)

Thanks. I'm back online, using our own connection, again. YAY!!!

Can anyone tell me why the same small group of us are having two separate conversations on two threads? How long until we get the two completely jumbled? Maybe we should just start a new one: "Shameless Thread Killers" or something like that :D

tamra
06-01-2006, 04:24 PM
I was thinking the same thing Charlene. I keep getting confused as to what's going on which one!

Charla
06-01-2006, 04:24 PM
Okay, I'll go start a new one :D

tamra
06-01-2006, 04:25 PM
I didn't want to start a new joint thread though for fear of being a thread killer on the first post! Yes, I'm a chicken... told you I'm boring.

tamra

Yep. :) Then I'll have to shoot for 500. :) Darn it... I wish I didn't have to work! Then I'd be up there with you hot chicks. :) Funny how my DH doesn't like the whole idea of me being a SAHM (our kids are only 18, 16 and 13). Hee hee hee.

RachelS
06-01-2006, 11:25 PM
lol kimberlee... sometimes i wish i wasn't a SAHM... i like it but i would rather be financially stable independently from my husband

tamra
06-02-2006, 12:28 AM
I love being a SAHM - although sometimes my kids drive me nuts. Scratch that... MOST of the time my kids drive me nuts!!! But I sure do love 'em.

I must be an oddball because I don't like being a SAHM. Wouldn't trade my daughter for the world but just don't like the "job" portion.

RachelS
06-02-2006, 09:06 AM
i feel that way a lot lacey.

Nice to know I am not alone! I keep saying 2 more months and then I can go back to school and do something for me (she starts school full time in August).

tamra
06-02-2006, 02:09 PM
That will be good for you to have some time for yourself!

I'm thinking it will be awesome for me this year when school starts because I am going from 3 kids every second of every day <for the last 3 years> to 1! Excited.
My son went to kinder HERE, then we moved. I let him finish out the school year OVER THERE, but did NOT send him back. It was a joke of a school. Didn't want my son there, so I have been homeschooling for the past 3 years! Not ever what I had planned on doing, but it was what I felt was best for him given the circumstances. Since we are no longer OVER THERE, I am going to send him back to "regular" school. Also, my daughter will be old enough for school this year- so I'll just have 1!!! I can't even imagine the freedom of one child... it's gonna be great. I can really focus on my baby girl now! Instead of the baby, the toddler, and homeschooling a 9 year old!

where is over there? and i am looking forward to starting school again in the fall. i hate to put the baby in daycare, but isaac really needs the structure that preschool will give him so that's good. hopefully MIL will be watching the baby most of the time anyways!

Rachel, over there in East Texas- nothing against Texas (that's my home) or even EAST Texas, just the matter of the school in the town we lived in!

RachelS

I can understand what you mean about being a SAHM. Back when my daughter was a baby, I worked swing and my mom worked days. I watched my baby sister (2 months older than my DD) during the day and worked swing and then it was my mom and stepdad's turn with the girls in the evening. It was like having twins and I went nuts all day with no adults to talk to. I wish the digichick would have been around back then. :)

I would just love to have a few months off... to go back to school or to try to start my own business. Or to just relax and create art. :) *sigh* daydreams are wonderful.
