I love it, but I'm not quite sure I get this part:

"If you want to see higher-quality scrapbooks, scrapbooking magazines are the best bet. Digital Scrapbooking is devoted to those who practice the art with technology, but magazines catering to the mainstream, like Memory Makers, Simple Scrapbooks and Creating Keepsakes, give more space to books made with software rather than with scissors. "

What the heck does that mean? If they're saying what it sounds like they're saying, they didn't do their research very well, LOL...anyway, thanks for pointing it out! Very cool to see our name there!

The companion article is also interesting:

It is great that our name is there, but the article sure isn't written very well and I find it all that positive toward digi-scrapping except to let people know that it is out there. But wow! the companion article is well-written and well researched. It seems to really promote the idea of digi-scrapping.

Heather, Yes, I kind of wondered if this was from the "new york community college times" in the first article ;)

Cool, though I was a little dismayed that he said, "For higher quality layouts, look at magazines" (or something to that effect, anyway). Hmmm...the things I've seen in our galleries can beat the pants off anything I've seen in any magazine! (And some of the stuff in our galleries has been IN the magazines!)

cool to be mentioned, though! I told you guys we're the "it" place to be! Everybody wants to be a Chick! :)

Wowza! Congrats to the Chick team!

I'm a freelance writer in my "spare" time. I'd love to do an article about digiscrapping... anyone want to be interviewed? I'd been thinking about it lately because I realized that there was a lot of great local talent in WA. :) And since Laura is originally from Seattle, I thought it would be a good idea.

Hey... I had a question about the Wacom tablets. Are they really $300 in other parts of the country as stated in the companion article?

Kimberlee,
That sounds like a great idea. Hey, I bet some of our Chickie designers would love some publicity! :)

Kimberlee... uh no. My 4x6 was only $100. They must have been looking at a bigger one with bells and whistles, LOL!

Wow - isn't this good? Not sure about looking to magazines for 'higher quality' though. They obvisouly haven't checked out our gallery. Anyhoo its great that TDC's name was up there...great advertising for the site.

1. great publicity
2. not the greatest writing
3. bigger wacom = bigger price tag

Definitely cool that TDC was mentioned. Wonderful publicity.

The writing just plain sucks! What is this about "virtual dollhouses" to get women into technology? I'd like to point out that many of us are freelance writers, web designers, and graphic designers, and just happened to already have the software/hardware when we came across the hobby!
