I'm using PSE 3 and it crashed as I was finishing a layout. I had been saving it periodically and I can see a thumbnail of it but when I try to open it, I get that message.

Is there any hope for me? I was so close to being finished and I don't want to start over completely. Whaaa!

Any advice or sympathy is appreciated!!

I have never seen this, but I suggest doing a google search (search for the error message and photoshop) or maybe try the adobe forums - they have one just for PSE that might have some info or you could post there. Hope one of these works for you. The only other thing I can think of is reinstalling PSE and seeing if that helps.

Thanks Suzy! I did start doing some research on-line after you suggested it. I didn't find an answer before getting distracted but then I got some other suggestions from someone which led me to trying to open it in FireWorks and it worked! Yippee!!! I'm so happy.

Thanks for your help!

Hey Cosy! So glad you were able to recover it. If after doing the other stuff I recommended (uninstall, clean-up, defrag, reinstall) you still have problems, call tech support. Screw wasting time searching on-line ... sometimes you just gotta do things the old fashioned way (it's quicker) ... pick up the phone and call Adobe's tech support. I'm sure they can get you squared away. HTH.
