hmm, I miseed the view today, but I would assume this is a pretaped show. From the way things are sounding in the press, I don't think that she is coming back. But, that's just my guess!

I read People Mag. last night and it did seem as though she was done with no possibility for coming back (not like she would want to).

I heard they had some prepared stuff that they were probably going to show, so this must be one of those...

I have no respect for Star Jones. Although I've never really watched the View (except when i was sick at home, which is not often), I remember the flap over her wedding and that is just plain wrong. I'm surprised they didn't buy out her contract right after that and get rid of her.

Barbara Walters, on yesterday's episode of The View said that Star will no longer be on live shows, but will be seen on repeats through the summer. I'm guessing this morning was a repeat.

I'm so not into daytime talk shows...I have no clue what you all are talking about. I watched a few episodes way back when but that was when they had that young blonde on there. When they fired her, I decided I didn't like the show anymore. LOL

So I'm totally curious now...what happened with Starr Jones and the show? Oh and what's the story about her wedding dress Rachel? I don't care about any of these celebs but I LOVE gossip. LOL

I think ABC knew months and months ago that they did not want to sign Star Jones on for further seasons. I don't know when Star found out about it, but supposedly for a while so she could "look for another job". Guess so that she could say on her last show that she was moving on to bigger and better things. I heard part of a voice interview of Star Jones saying that that's not who she is....that she's honest and isn't going put up a front and say that phony line.

Supposedly there was an agreement that Star Jones leaving would be announced on a pre-determined date. Star being the way she is...announced it earlier than what ABC expected surprising everyone. Wish I could've seen those phoney faces around the table when Star did that lol. I'm sure Barbara wasn't happy and would've loved to see her reaction.

So after the 'stunt' Star pulled, she was told she didn't have to come back the next day.

I'm not a big fan of Barbara Walters. I used to respect her. I know we are totally different and that's ok...but once last year she lied right on the show and that's so un-cool. Totally lost respect for her then. Yes, I think Barbara's done lots of great things I guess, is highly respect, yada yada yada....and I guess I don't like how much she's revered sometimes. But mainly...she lied once and I never really cared to listen to what she said after that.

Thanks for filling us in Karen! To be honest, I don't care for Barara Walters either. She bugs me! Tries to act like she's some serious hard-hitting reporter/interviewer but if you watch the really high profile interviews she does, she asks "fluffy" questions. BORING! LOL

It wasn't just her wedding dress. It was her WHOLE wedding. This quote from an article says it best:

"Star--who took wedding freebies from corporate sponsors and then plugged them on TV"

That's just wrong, in my opinion. Bribes? Ethics?

I've never actually seen her, only the Saturday Night Live impersonations of her. I still feel like I've learned enough about the mess with her wedding, that this all makes sense to me :D
The funny thing is, as soon as I heard about her "announcement," I thought, "rats. And SNL is off for the summer. I would have liked to see their take on it!"

I heard Star Jones left because Rosie O'Donnel was going to join the cast now that Meredith left for the Today show. Yikes! I don't like Star Jones anyways and since I work I don't watch The View....so no biggie to me! I just think Star Jones is acting like a child so bye bye see ya later!
