Avatar question

I read the FAQ and looked on the User CP in the upper left corner. It said something somewhere (I've looked around so much tonight that I can't remember where I saw this) that the avatar list isn't enabled or something. How can I find an avatar along the style of what I'm seeing here? I'm new to the avatar concept and am an "old dog", so any help is appreciated, especially if it's in simple terms. :-)

Hey there! Avatars need to be hosted on your own site. You can do it at www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com) for free. I bought mine from Huni Buni at SBB, but there are others around the net that make them too!

I'm off to look for avatars and sign up at photobucket. BTW, I noticed you're in St. Louis, just a few hours north of me! I hope you're enjoying all this rain as much as we are down here. Thanks again for the help.
