I just didn't realize what I just got myself into over my vacation!!

I was fiddling on my computer with some LOs when my niece asks me, "Karlana, can you make me a mini scrapbook that I can carry around?" And I say "Sure, of what sweetie?" Of course, I knew the answer. "Leilani and me. Oh, and my cousins" I knew she really only wanted her and Leilani.

So, I have been searching and SEARCHING for the right album for her. Since she is only 7, I wanted something that will last, and possibly may be switch out and add to in the future. So, thinking along those lines, I am doing 4x6 LOs that can just slide in.

I found a really neat and simple pink one at Walmart for $1.68 - not too bad right?

Well, I get it home, and count the pages and I am thinking... HHmmm

16*4=64!!! LOL

So, I have to make 64 LOs!! What a challenge! :retarded: Oh well, she is worth it. And I am thinking about going back and getting one for all the kids and just printing out them some scrap books too!! Because then I could use almost the same LOs and throw in a few different ones for each kid, considering some have been around longer than others - I have different pictures of different times of these kids...

Awe, I get to reminisce!! LOL

What a fun project!
You know - you could leave some of them blank and then you and your daughter could "pen pal" her layouts through out the summer and at any other time that you have a new one you could add... Not so many done at once then - and she gets the fun of getting letters in the mail. I know my 8 y/o son loves getting mail. Just a thought...

I was kind of thinking the same thing as Michelle - leave some blank ones for her to do or take some of her artwork and add it to it - give her a feel of what it was like being her age kwim?

Oh - oh - oh - maybe a better idea! Make two albums and maybe they can send them back and forth to each other to add to them with their own letters and such. Or maybe not even mail them - but the pages and they can add them to their own album. KWIM???

I had gotten to that idea awhile ago.... About leaving some of the spots blank.

I so wish they could swap LOs in mail - but I am the only currently digiscrapping in the family. LOL - they all run to me to do the stuff for them if they want invites or something to change out in their frames or tumblers (my SILs and MIL got the Starbucks tumblers for Mother's Day!!).

But I do want to start sending them to her in the mail as she LOVES to get mail!!

My daughter wants one now, too!! LOL

I was thinking that as I typed earlier - that there was no way your daughter was going to let you make only one! LOL!

Well at least if I am making them, I can make most of them the same, and some different. LOL

You can always use the mini album kits that some of the designers are doing (like Val)... it will make the 64 go a whole lot quicker. That is what I used for my daughter's graduation slide show. I did 48 slides in a night that way. I just rotated some of them and repeated.

Oh, I have no problems cropping and resizing to use what I want to use.

And I have PLENTY of freebies, as well as bought kits - Val's kits are always on the top list!.

It really is a matter of getting pics of her and her cousins, and people closest to her. I'd have to scan the older ones.

It will be fun either way, she will just get mail!! LOL

I was thinking that maybe a few of the pages could just be journaling pages where either you or your daughter (and you could get some other family members) to write stuff about your niece and put those "special" remembering pages in there also.

What a fun project for you and your daughter.

Sounds like a fun project!

I made Jacey photo books at snapfish of her and family/friends before I started scrapbooking...now she wants actual LO's :-)
