Some of you may recall my post just a week and a half ago, about my brother's nine year old nephew, Hunter, being killed in a car accident. I had been thinking and praying about what kind of comfort I could offer his family, and the card and flowers just seemed so pathetically insufficient.
And, then, I had an idea. God has given me the love of scrapping and the ability to do this, so why not make a gift for his family that they can treasure forever, and help them to focus on all the great memories they have. I called my mom, who approached Hunter's mom with the idea and she was overwhelmed with gratitude at the idea. I am going home to my mother's (across the state) this weekend. I am hoping that when I return next week, I will have a disc full of scanned pictures that we will be doing at my dad's house, along with some family stories written down for journaling. While I know I CAN do the album myself, I know that it will take me some time to do an entire album, especially since I want these pages to be special, not just tossed together.
And, this is where you come in. Over the past nine months that I have been here, I have seen what warm, giving hearts you all have. And, so I had hoped that some of you may be able to give me a hand in creating this album. Hunter's parents are divorced, and so I will be printing an album for each of them. I would like to be able to pull the albums together in just two weeks. I know it will be possible with a few volunteers to help. I am asking for volunteers who would like to take a photo (or several) and create digital layouts with them. I would email you the full-size photo and ask you to create a full-size 12x12 layout which you would then email to me. Of course, it would be nice if you could also share the layout in the gallery for the rest of us working on our pages, so that everyone can see how the completed project will come together.
If you feel this is something you could do, just sign up on this thread. I will p-mail any volunteers individually with a photo and information when I return next week. Thank you, in advance, to all of you for considering lending me a hand to help this family.
