I had my wisdom teeth pulled in high school. 3 of the 4 were impacted but I wouldnt allow them to put me under. I was fine within a couple hours, never even took the pain meds, LOL

I had three wisdom teeth and a 6-year molar pulled (not all at the same point). Wisdom teeth aren't bad, especially if they're not impacted...not pleasant, but not horrible. DO keep putting ice on it (15 minutes on, 15 off)...it makes a HUGE difference. I wasn't swollen at all, but my sister looked like a chipmunk with a mouth full of nuts for a week. :D Advil helps afterwards if you need it (the prescription they gave me was basically extra-strength Ibuprofin) :)

Hope it goes well!!

Beyond that usual wisdom tooth removal (when I was 17), I've had five other teeth removed. (I have horribly weak teeth.) There's definitely pain involved, so if they give you pain meds, USE THEM! I found that putting a well wrapped ice-pack on my cheek helped to reduce the pain and swelling as well. And don't use straws for a while.

Well i feel silly, it took all of 5 mins, if that for them to get the tooth out LOL Im sure the novacaine is still working, but so far the only pain im feeling is caused by me having to keep a constant bite down on this stupid gauze LOL

Well, yay! Glad it was so easy. I had my wisdom teeth pulled about 7 years ago and had to be put under because 2 were impacted. The recovery really wasn't too bad, and the pain meds were GREAT, lol!

Glad it went so easy, Deena! yay!

I had my wisdon teeth removed, what?, 6 years ago?, and I had bruised cheeks! The funny thing was that at the end of the week, my parents had given us the use of their timeshare at Vegas and when we went - my cheeks were bruised and we laughed at how many people were wondering what he had done to me - LOL!

I am glad it is over for you! I always thought the worry ahead was worse than the procedure. Not as bad as a lot of other things, huh? Be sure to follow the instructions you were given. Take the meds they say, and what ever else they want to you do . You will heal up a lot faster.

They didnt give me any meds LOL told me if i needed something take tylenol or motrin!! I took some motrin as the novacaine wore off, but i really feel fine :) Its a little achy but not bad. Maybe itll be worse tomorrow, i dunno. From what they were saying, the easier it comes out, the better the recovery, so i should be one of the lucky ones according to the dental assistent!! YAY!!

I'm glad it went so easy for you. Make sure not to use a straw or you could pull out the blood clot and get a dry socket. That is what really hurts.
