Ok, I've got a question for you creative geniuses...

My sister is letting me use the crib skirt and bumpers from her daughter's nursery (I wanted something different than what I had with Maggie). Here's the skirt:

http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e183/maggieandmommy/DSCF8279.jpg

Nice and bright, right? lol the bumper has piping with that stripey material on the top and bottom, but the bumper itself is thick and white.

The walls will be the apple green color.

So...accessories? I used bunnies with Maggie and got the cutest little stuffed bunnies. What would you do with this fabric? Just trying to get my head around it and can't...

Thanks for any ideas!

Wow this is very cheery there girl! I have to think about this but not sure why but I saw someone's blog the other day with a kid's room designed sort of like the colors you have here.....old age though cuz for the life of me I can't remember where I was

I love those colors!! I think you could do a butterfly garden theme with hanging butterflies and flowers. Here's some great ones from Bombay kids (http://www.bombaycompany.com/gp/product/B0001APCE8/sr=1-1/qid=1157401488/ref=sr_1_1/002-6030319-7390452?ie=UTF8&bmBrand=kids&m=A2Z4DUPX2Z8M59). And you can even hang a canopy around the crib (like a butterfly net).

Also, I just blogged the other day with pics of my dds room that is a surfer girl theme and has those colors (link in my siggy). Don't know if that's the one you saw, Darla, but it may give you another idea to think of.

I am a PotteryBarnKids (http://ww2.potterybarnkids.com/index.cfm?area=shp&age=b&src=shpab%7Cc%7Cda%7Crshop%5Fb%2Frmsaa%7Ccromnurda i%7Cda%7Crrooms)-aholic. Though I can't afford to buy all of their stuff, I love the ideas that they have.

Good Luck, and let us know what you come up with!

Oh.... I love that idea. You could get pieces of felt and make flowers, tack them to the walls and then do long doodly stems. And you could add butterflies. :)

I think butterflies & flowers would be so cute with that bedding Sinead! And I'm sure you can find lots of accent pieces in those colors! *If* we ever have another one I want to do something different, I decorated with the same Winnie the Pooh bedding for both my girls nurseries. It was cute but after 2 kids its not exactly in the best shape so we'd have to do something different anyway!

And Ashleigh your daughters room is adorable! We recently moved our girls into the same room & are turning the other room into the toy room. When we moved Kaylie into her big girl room 3 years ago my stepmom hand painted clouds on the walls & we put up this really pretty 30" high picket fence/floral border all around the bottom. But the girls have torn most of the border down so it doesn't look so cute now. I want to get them new beds/bedding & redo the walls so I've been on the look out for cute ideas!

Yeah, I would do something with flowers and butterflies, too, since they can be tailored to any color scheme.
However, having a little boy in a surfer theme room, I gotta say, that would be very cute for her nursery!

BUT WHATEVER YOU DO. . . you HAVE to get this crib sheet! A little on the pricey side ($29), but the softest thing ever! I have one for Henry and put it on anytime that it's clean! I wish they made them in king size!!

Cute, Yvette!

I've seen that, Jenn...I'm a PBK addict, too, even though I can't afford to buy it! We have the chamois changing pad cover and it's SO soft. I didn't know they made crib sheets with it, too. hmmm...

:regular_s

Keep the great ideas coming--you guys are rockin!

Sinead, I have a friend that did that big flower idea with the doodly stems and it turned out sooooooo cute! I wish I had a pic! (She's moved since so her dd wants a more "grown up" room now that she's 6...) She bought those cute meshy looking flowers with wires and plump faces and then had the decorator attach them to the walls and paint a 'springy' theme on the walls...

One thing that I have learned- Ebay often has great PBK stuff much cheaper.
(not always though, just a funny story- my oldest's room was done in a sailboat theme that they had. I had a hard time finding the bumper, so I checked ebay- yeah, they were going for over $250, just for 1 bumper!!!!- Thankfully I got a call the next day from the store saying that they had one returned!!

LOL! That is too funny!

I also found that a lot of the PBK stuff goes on clearance at the end of the season. Plus, if you register for stuff, you get a year after the registry end date to purchase the items for 10% off. (hint - the registry end date doesn't have to be the baby's birthday, kwim)

lol Jan!! Well, you should see my sister's walls--the one who had this fabric first. She painted the walls that bright apple green and put 4" hot pink circles all over the walls. Then on one wall she painted a GIGANTIC purpley-blue elephant holding a bouquet of flowers in her trunk. No wonder her kiddo doesn't like to sleep at night! LOL!!
