I got some horrible news yesterday and I have been sooooo bothered by it! (No matter how hard I try, I can't shake it!) My BF from HS called me and let me know that her ex (father of her son) called her to tell her that his 10 month old has just been diagnosed with AML and the drs pretty much told them that she has no chance. I'm friends with him, too (but haven't seen him in a few years...) and I am so devastated for them! I have never met his wife but I want to go see them sooo bad and pray for them... I can't stop thinking about this! My friend is beside herself and is so worried about her son. He was so excited when he found out his dad was having a baby! He's been the only child for 10 years! :( :( :( Please keep them in your thoughts and say a little prayer in your heart.... thanks...

I'm sure that they would love for you to go over and visit and pray for them, Marsha. Especially since you are friends with him too. I know that I would want all the prayers I could get!

Oh no Marsha, this is so terrible. I know sometimes it's hard to have faith and boldness, but it's been my experience that ANY time I have someone on my mind so strongly, that it is always because God has put them on my mind and I should do something. You never know what might happen if you follow your feelings and actually do go and pray with them. It may end up being a huge testiment for that family and for you! I'll pray for them now, but I think you should contact them and ask if you can come see them... even if it's just to bring them dinner one night or something.

I'm trying to get ahold of my friend so hopefully she'll call me back soon... I don't have her ex's number so I'm not sure how to get ahold of him yet. I know that they are in L.A. right now (most likely at UCLA) since that's where they send all high-emergency patients... that's about 2 hrs from where I live so I wouldn't be able to go alone. They are soooo super heavy on my heart right now... I'm going to go have a talk with God... :) I'll check in with you all later....

Oh my goodness, so many sad things happening lately. One of my dh's coworkers lost his 10 year old son to brain cancer. It was terrible. I can't image losing my kids EVER, but I can't help but wonder if it get's harder the older they get. All those years spent together. Oh God, I'm SO sorry.

Oh, Marsha, this truly is such a horrible thing to face. I have prayed for their family, and I'm going to pray for you, too, that you would be given insight and strength to help this family. (((Hugs!)))
