Today is me and John's 9th annivesary. We went out to dinner last night because he has to teach on Wed. nights, but he came home from work with 9 long-stem roses and a bottle of champagne :) Such a sweetie! I made him a digi card and when I printed it out discovered that my ink cartridge was low and all the colors are funky. Grrrr....

Congrats, Val! What a sweetie, you have! I'm sure he understands about the ink cartridge...Just put it up as a screen saver, so he can see it whenever he walks past the computer! ;)
The nine roses were a nice touch. I'm recalling one Valentine's Day when my DH got me a riding lawn mower battery... He picked a couple of flowers from his Grandma's yard, and tossed them on the table for me, with a hand-written note that said, "Nothing says love like flowers and a battery." Ummmm, I can think of a few other things, hon...:22: How's about I send Kurt to John for some lessons??!! roflol!

Fun! I am happy for you Val, that you had a nice anniversary. It is a wonderful thing to be loved!
My own hubby is a very creative gift giver. Well, actually he isn't, I was just trying to spin it nice. One year I got a plastic turkey platter and car seat covers. ???? I still can't figure out what he was thinking, but it always makes me laugh! He isn't a gift giver, and that is OK with me. I've got the love of a faithful man, what more could I want?

I'm with you, Nora. You take the cake on that one. I did get a cordless screwdriver for my b-day one year. So romantic. Hahaha.
Congrats, Val! That is wonderful... and very romantic. It is nice to hear about the success stories. :)

OMG, those gifts are cracking me up!!!!! We don't usually do gifts, but for our 5 year anniversary he went over the top. When we first met we were in a comp. class together and had to write papers on a famous person. I chose Amelia Earhart, not sure why. He chose Bill Gates. So we went to the bookstore (as friends) and shopped together for biographies and then wrote our papers together and helped edit them and all that. He says that during that time he fell in love. AWWW! So anyway, on our 5th anniversary he bought me a 1st edition SIGNED copy of a book Amelia Earhart wrote about her love of flying. OMG! It is still so bizzare to open that book and see her hand written signature. I learned so much about her and her passion while writing that paper, and I'm SO PROUD to have this book.
I found out about a year later that he paid over $800 for it. Yikes John!

LOL - I was just remembering Valentine's Day - it was 4 months before our wedding day - I didn't scrapbook back then, but I did a lot of woodworking. DH bought me an electric sander, I loved it! But before he gave it to me, I guess he was at work telling the guys (construction site) about this cool gift and EVERY one of them said "uh-oh, you're in trouble man". I still laugh when I think about it.

Wow! That is such a cool gift. That would be pretty amazing to have it signed and everything. What a sweetheart!

LOL, those gifts are terrific! Guy started with buying jewels, but after a necklace, a pearl to hang on it and 2 watches (I broke the first one), he stopped (I don't have holes in my ears and a ring was too significant at the time I guess!). The last gifts he bought to me were a PDA, a computer screen and a digital camera... Can you say we're geeks? LOL
