I got a full-time JOB! :) I have been at home with my kids for the last eight years. This fall I started the job search and accepted that I would have to go the substitute teaching route, but I got a full-time job as a Title I Reading Aide at my kids' elementary school, instead. Great hours, great job...not so great pay, but a sacrifice I'm happy to make to get a foot in the door at this district and to have such great hours. So, I'm headed back to work, full-time, and I know that there will be some BIG adjustments for all of us in this first week or so, just trying to figure out how to fit everything we need to do into a day. So, if I'm not around as much, you'll know why. Hopefully, things will settle down into a nice routine soon, and I'll be back to the mad-scrapper I usually am, lol.

Wish me luck! ;)

You'll find a balance! How exciting for you that you'll be at the same school with your kids--at least you won't have to worry about that part of it! Teaching isn't financially rewarding (believe me...I'm right in the middle of reading essays for a pittance right now!), but it offers so many other rewards that are frankly intangible. Good for you for going back. We'll miss you around here during the day, but I'd much rather an aide position than a sub position ANY day!! :regular_s
