I succeeded, I came home! :)

Who got up early and what did you get???

Matthew woke up at 2:30am and by the time I got him settled - I was UP for the morning! Had planned on getting up at 4am - layed in bed until 3:45 and then got up! Made it to Circuit City at 4:45am and the line was appox. 3 blocks to get in!!! I did get into the store, but all the Gameboys were gone by then! I hightailed it to WalMart and got one pricematched and was a happy camper! I did manage to get that, an MP3 player, a drill, a pair of mechanics gloves and several movies. I went to WalMart 3 times (2 different stores), Best Buy twice (they had what I wanted, but walked out both times empty handed - the line to check out was at least an hour!), Circuit City as mentioned and K-Mart!

Wow, Michelle, I'm impressed!

Dh decided last night to go by himself, so Jasmine and I slept while he ran to WalMart. Got the remote control Hummer for DH, he got a carafe-free coffee maker for me, got a travel DVD player for our trip tomorrow, and came home by 6. Then at 8 he went back out to see if Best Buy still had their cheap camcorder there, but they were out, so he got a couple things at Walgreens and came back home.

And he says he might do it again next year :D I hate the crowds, so the thrill of the "hunt" just isn't worth the stress of it. But I love that he enjoys it and gets good deals :)

It was totally worth it to me to go and have things price matched! I don't know if I'd be so happy otherwise... but all in all it was good! And I love bargains! :)

Nothing here... of course the Germans don't have sales like in the states and the PX didn't seem to be doing too much. We'll prolly do some shopping in Ramstein on Sunday though.

Michelle... YOU'RE one of those crazies I've been hearing about on the radio. LOL

LOL - it was chaos, but it was organized chaos! It's the very first year that I've ever gone out! I'm still tempted to go to Target, but not sure... I'll have to take both boys! I kinda wanted to get Click DVD for hubby and they have Elf on sale too. But I just don't know if I want to drag them out! Man - once you get some of those deals, it gets in your blood today! :)

Shhhhhhhh!
It doesn't help that DH got paid today and a bonus too! ;)

I WENT!! I WENT!!

I stayed up and left for Palm Springs around midnight. We (my mom came with me) got to Toys R Us at 2:30am and there was already a line. We stood around and got to chatting with the people in line. OMG I have never laughed soooo hard, those people were COMEDY!!!

When the store opened there were a bunch of people that tried to ram into the store that weren't in the line, and it was like a little riot. The people in the line that waited all night (yea I was there too) were yelling and blocking them. It was hilarious!

I got in (we were like the 10th or so in the store) and went straight for the Elmo TMX's that I spotted the associates smuggling up front. (pays to be sneaky). Then I got everything on my list and was out the door by 5:30 am.

Headed to Target, at the BACK of the long line around the building, and got in at 6am. Got everything on my list there, including the Atari game system that my dorky husband wished for.

I was back on the road to Blythe by 8am. I am soooo tired. I fell asleep when I got home. Natural right after being up for 24+ hours? HA!!!

I wasn't sure how I was going to like Black Friday, but after today, I will go every year. It was soooooo much FUN!!!!!

The chicks around us in line were so cool, we each told each other our main "want" then when we got in there we all got the one thing of the others and met up in case the person couldn't get it. It was a great little scheme for teamwork. I grabbed for them a quad, a sit and spin and a bike, then they all grabbed a my little pony walking pony for me. It was cool! I had gotten the pony, but the girl with the quad couldn't find it, so all of us had one for her. ROFL! We ended up leaving a pile of toys up front from the extras, but whatever. HA!!!

My dh got up at 4am and went to Best Buy, but the line was around the store so he went to Sears to check out the tools he wanted. Found nothing he liked and went back to Best Buy where he could get in.

He was able to get the stuff we wanted, but he waited in line for about 90 minutes to check out. He said they had the line wind all over the store and he learned a lot about appliances and now he wants a new washer/dryer. He said they have one with a remote control that you can take with you anywhere in the house and it tells you how much longer the washer or dryer has left in the cycle. They had TVs and last minute items set up all along the line and he picked up quite a few of those.

I ended up with a new TV for my kitchen...flat screen and it's HD and I can even plug my laptop into it he tells me. We got a few of the kids gifts and a bunch of movies and a few odds and ends that were cheap like batteries and extra memory for the PSP and digital camera. So he felt it was definitely worth getting up early and standing in line.

Especially since while he was gone both of our 2 older kids got sick so I was at home cleaning up and washing sheets!!!! He did bring home McD's for breakfast at about 8:30 so that was nice!

I got up a bit after 5am & got to Walmart around 6am, I'm pretty much done with my girls Xmas gifts but I had 2 items in mind to get. I wanted to get 2 of the Cabbage Patch newborn babies (one boy & one girl) but they had zero boy babies & like 25 girl babies so I didn't get any of those. Then I wanted 2 of the Little People Amusement Park toys that were also $10 each (one for Kelsie & one for my nephew) so I got those & headed out the door!

Then of course I had to head to work @ Ace, got there @ 6:30am & we opened a few minutes before 7am. We were crazy busy for the first hour or so & then we had a nice steady stream of people the rest of the day til I got to go home @ 3pm. The first thing we ran out of was the portable DVD players that were only $69.99, those were gone by like 9:30 I think & then we ran out of a few other things. Man was I tired, I'm so not used to being on my feet all day! I'm used to sitting at my desk all day, so my feet & back were killing me by the time I got home! I'm looking forward to going to my dad's for Thanksgiving leftovers & to relax the rest of the night!

So I spent less than $22 today! Well I did also put an MP3 player, a Seal-a-Meal food saver thing & a Dr. Scholls heated back massager on layaway at work but I don't have to pay for those for awhile LOL! They're not Xmas presents anyways so I don't really "need" them right now.

sheesh, I made it out at 10am to get an iPod clock radio thingy from our HARDWARE store fopr dd#1. There were plenty left and no line. It was like a ghost town in Target at 10:30 but the local KMart lot was overflowing. Go figure

Kimberly - that's just too cool! That's what I was thinking - you need a tag team - a couple people to go grab and one to get in line at some of the places...

Michele - that was so sweet of your hubby to get you a tv while in line! :) Bummer abou the sick kids though! And I had to pick up breakfast on the way home too - I think I'd have been locked out if I'd got homw without it - ROFL!

Shawna - they had tones of those CB babies at at least one of the WM's I was at! I have no idea if they were boy or girls though... So you did get the MP3??? I settled for a 1gb Scandisk one for $35.00. I figured I better see if he likes it and uses it first! :)

It was funny, Christine - the people in the Target line couldn't figure out what we were waiting in line for at Circuit City and the people in the Circuit City line couldn't figure out what the Target people were waiting on - LOL! Target/K-Mart/Michael's/Circuit City are all in one huge strip mall where I went and the parking lot was STUFFED!

We got one of the 1GB scandisk's too..PINK!!! for my daughter. We got one last year for my son for Xmas and paid $89 for it and thought it was a steal last year at that price (well it was last year at that price), but he LOVES it and it fits nicely in his coat pocket. So now we got one for my daughter this year.

ok it 6:00 pm here in California and I am just home now - whew!!! I actually went to Compusa last night when it opened at 9:00 pm - me and a gizllion people. They only let in so many people every 15 minutes and it was unbelievable! I finally got in the store about 10:15 and began the "hunt" to find a 2 gb ultra II cf card - got it - last one :) and picked up "Ice Age 2" for $9.99 and some photo paper my dh swears by. We ended up leaving the store at 11:30 last night and home by about midnight. So I didn't wake up until 6:30 and was out in the stores by 7:15 and picked up 2 idogs, pjs, tons of discounted bratz dolls, board games and some dvds at Target , bought a dvd/vhs recorder and PSE5 at Best Buy. bought 2 pairs of heely skates for the girls at Mervyns, more barbies and pjs......came home picked up dh and little one and then went back to Target and Kohl's and picked up more stuff......whew! Going out tomorrow to Joann's and JCPenny's to finish more shopping and should be done....until next weekend....hehe....

I had to work, too, and since I am a reporter, that meant I had to go interview crazy (oops, I mean really serious) shoppers for a little while on my way to the office!
I posted part of this in another thread, but when I fell asleep last night, my husband had his laptop out plotting out his route (he's a reporter, too, but had athe day off!) ... and when I woke up at 7 a.m. I said "So you decided not to go?" and he said, "I already went and came back!"

We're buying gifts for two teenagers who are living at a homeless shelter with their mom... so he got the 16-year-old girl a prepaid cell phone for $9! And an external hard drive for me for $40 (regularly $180!)
And we all know what more hard drive space means....

I saw those, Michele! I got DH an all white one though!

Awww - Deena - from a consumer, thank you for working for us who shopped! :)
(and, yes, Shawna, that goes for you too!)

Sounds like you had a relaxing shopping day, Rachael!

Darla - oh wow! I should have had you pick up one of those $20 hard drives for me! ;)
And you're not done shopping with all that???? ROFL!

Holly - you are a print reporter, right? Did anyone knock you aside - LOL! (I hope not!) That is just so cool about buying the teens their gifts! And score on the HD! I so need one too and DH will flip when he figures out I filled up this one... ;)

Was seriously tired of shopping at that time though! :)

My stepmom said that Walmart.com is supposed to have the same prices as what was offered in the store all week long. Not sure if that's true or not, but I might check it out to see if I can score a baby boy CPK! And yeah I did get the MP3 but I just put it on layaway at work since we are not doing Xmas gifts for each other, but Rob's birthday is in March so I'm gonna give it to him then. It was such a good deal & plus I can pay for it over the next 4 months! And I figure if he doesn't end up using it then it can become mine & I'll let him get something else LOL! That is a pretty good price for the 1gb MP3 player though, hopefully Michael will like it!

I bet they didn't make as many boys as girls...

Yeah - Michael's BD is 10 days after Christmas and Ryan's 10 days before, so I'm shopping for both of those right now too... Need more ideas for Michael though, I want to give him the drill and the MP3 for Christmas! :)

I'll have to watch their website then, looks like they're back to regular price but $16.64 is still pretty darn cheap for those baby dolls!

Kaylie's birthday is December 12th, so I've been birthday shopping for her too. She's asked for a Bratz party this year, but I don't really care for those dolls. Too much makeup & skimpy clothes, but now they've come out with the Bratz Kidz line which are not quite as bad. So I picked 2 of them up for her @ Toys R Us this week for $9.99 each during their Big Toy Book sale. I also noticed Walmart has the extra outfits for the dolls which TRU didn't have & they're only $5 each so I need to go get her a couple of those too. Then I was thinking maybe Bratz slippers & pajamas & some other little things like lip gloss & hair stuff. I try not to go overboard since Xmas is 2 weeks later & she gets plenty then between us & all her grandparents!

Shawna I am with you on the Bratz dolls but the small ones and the new kids I really adore.....since it is my little one who mostly plays with them. They have kind of toned down the bigger ones and now tramped out the My Scene dolls which I used to let the girls have all the time until they starting selling one that has a pierced belly button....

Did you see the ones at Target - they have the Diamond Bratz dolls - the kid ones for $12. and has I think some clothes and something else besides the doll. Really cute but can't really tell you all that it has since I had to smuggle it in my cart so the girls didn't see it. Check the ad out - on sale til tomorrow.

Shawna, I totally know what you mean about the double shopping. Amalie's b-day is December 29th.

IMHO...I *hate* bratz dolls. I call them the "Hoochie Dolls".

LOL Kimberly - I used to call them something a tiny bit more stronger than that....but they have changed quite a bit so they can come and play with Barbie - but I have final say on which ones we get.....

Oh my.... on Thanksgiving we were looking at the ads (we always do) but this time, we aren't broke and I started seeing deals that I just couldn't pass up, so SIL and I decided that we HAD to just TRY BF once, to know if it was all that bad. Turns out it's NOTHING in our town. I mean, there were lines outside and crowds, but it wasn't a big deal at all. We walked into Walmart a few minutes before 5 and she went and found my Kitchenaid (YAY!!!) while I went to find the portable DVD player (for Ben's first flight at Christmas). The wrap came off the pallets, we picked up what we came for, then browsed a few minutes and went to check out. Left Walmart, 5:08 am. Then we thought, well- that was nothing- let's try Target. There, we had to wait in the line, but it was only out a little ways down the sidewalk and we waited for 25 or so minutes before the doors opened... this time, I was only going for one thing- the Radio Flyer pathfinder wagon. Got one, checked out a couple of other things- picked up a few $4 toddler games for the kids and some $5 Christmas tshirts for DH/I (we do pj pants and funny Tshirts for us) and went to the checkout. At both stores, we got to the checkouts quick enough to not have any wait at all. Left Target at 6:18, drove through for a bagel and hot chocolate and went home. Unfortunately, I was all wired and tried for 30 mins to get back to sleep before the baby was up for the day!! LOL.
