I'm going to do a calendar for my parents and DH's parents, and I'm not sure which one to use--Snapfish or Winkflash.

Anybody have a preference or an opinion?
Thanks!

I used Shutterfly last year and liked the results. Don't know how pricing compares. But the print quality was quite good & far superior to the drugstore & kinkos calendars that my cousins gave my grandparents. good luck!!

I won't use winkflash because they use Fuji...I've never been impressed with Fuji and grew up in Kodakville (i.e. Rochester, lol) so would never defile my pictures with Fuji :D

(oh, and we love snapfish. we've been very happy with their results. Almost no complaints (my only one is silly: if you move, make sure you tell them BEFORE you're checking out about your new address or it might not make it through their system in time!!!)

Ive used neither...But this year i used mpix.com and was very happy with the way they turned out. They were 19.00 bucks a peice, i ordered 4 :)

Last year i used shutterfly and was also happy with how they turned out, however i was such a novice then, i dunno if id have the same opinion now, but ive never been disappointed by anything ive had printed by them

I tried to use Winkflash once to save money on printing my baby's announcements and I got crap. They automatically color correct--- I don't know if it has changed- but they didn't give me an option for none at the time. Color correction is not your friend when you're printing your own designs or edited photos. My blue text came back purple and my baby was a little red, it was not pretty.

Here's the thing--- I would have been fine with getting them redone, but when I emailed them about it, they sent me some form response telling me that their machines are carefully calibrated daily, blah, blah, blah.. and that it must be my fault. I emailed again and tried to explain that they "corrected" my colors and that I needed them printed exactly as I sent them and they were not. They tried to tell me that maybe it was my screen and they print exactly the file... or some crap like that. I didn't pursue it any further, because it wasn't worth it- but it was a complete waste of money. I just absolutely will not use them again. It has actually made me wary of using any cheap online place, simply for the time that it would take should there be another mistake.

I have found that my local Sam's Club (and I know this is probably not true in every location) has excellent printing equipment and will turn off their "auto enhance" feature on my orders if I order in the store. Their prices are awesome- I use them all the time. I just can't pay my pro lab's prices on every single thing I do. Also, if you're looking for someone online, I second the pp's recommendation for mpix.com. They are awesome- though pricier than those others -- you will get prolab quality printing.

I get all my digital photo/layout printing done at my local Sam's Club & have never had any problems. I haven't decided where I'm getting my calendars printed yet this year. I do have a 20% off coupon for Office Depot's printing so I may try them out.

I have used Shutterfly in the past & was disappointed in one large batch of photos they sent because they printed them crooked! It was like their photo paper wasn't placed in the printer correctly & they were off a bit so that there was a crooked white space along the top!

I keep getting emails for free prints from Winkflash & Snapfish so I need to try them out! I think its Winkflash that will print your 4x8 or 5x7 photocards without using any preset templates so I'm thinking I might try them for my Christmas cards if we get around to getting a photo taken this year LOL! I think the price I saw was only like 23 cents including the envelopes.

Shawna- My Sam's Club (finally) will print the 4x8 cards w/envelopes without using their template this year... you might ask yours! They are 30/$10.96, 50/$15.65, 100/$25.96... I trust my Sam's printing, so that's where I'm taking mine... but I'm in the same boat- trying to get DH to cooperate for a photo! LOL... I might need to get creative.

Ooh good to know Lisa! I might try there then, 30 would be plenty for us to send out. And I like being able to print & pick up locally too.

Me too! I'm all about one hour- I hate waiting for shipments! I hope yours does it too!

I wanted to add something to what I wrote the other day.

We had Snapfish do our pages for the little calendars I made for gifts. They got here yesterday...we were so excited. But as I started sorting them, I realized...they color-corrected them! It wouldn't matter if it was just one page, but now the colors aren't uniform...why would I bother using the same kit if they aren't going to match anyways?
So I want to look into it and find out if we can specify "print them exactly the way I send them" or if we need to look elsewhere.
has anyone else seen this??
