Apparently I was on my own too much over the weekend :giggle:
After cleaning the house and doing a bunch of design-relating stuff, I decided I wanted to create something.
Hybrid.
Along the lines of our awesome Parade last summer: http://www.thedigichick.com/forums/s...ecoming-Parade

(but I'm not necessarily making a FLOAT...just something hybrid and fun)
We didn't get our new printer until last night, and then I had to go digging around for some cardstock. I don't have any that's truly white, so it's going to be on light gray paper.

So I'm off to search in the store for something fun to create.

Anyone else want to join me???

I did it. I joined the CC so I can get all of the terrific programs I have been wanting to learn.
I have always used PSE 5 and now 10. Once upon a time I bought CS3 and didn't like it at all, I probably didn't give it a chance, so anyway I gave it to my brother and went back to my comfortable PSE.

So now I am going to install CS6 and I'm skeered!! LOL!!
How do I install my styles and actions etc. and will the actions I have that said they were for PSE even work in CS6?? I know I have PS actions that will work in PSE but I didn't know if they all will work in PS. And then there's Lightroom. I have been DYING for Lightroom for years and now I'll have it! And I don't even know what all else! I am SO excited! I keep thinking of all the design possibilities that are at me hands now! And Illustrator even too!!

Okay I am rambling! Does anyone have any advice, tutorials, important things I need to know??

Oh, and do I have to uninstall PSE now or can both programs be on my PC? OMG I'm freaking out now LOL!!

Milk and Cookies... definitely a pair and they need to go to together! Just like these templates! Here are some templates for your two page spreads. It will help ease your way in to two pagers or just give you a leg up on the composition as it flows smoothly from on page to the next. Some storys just need to be told with lots of pictures and these offer a space for a lovely main photo to take center stage as well!

If you happen to love the template design but prefer single pages you can easily link layers and seperate them into 4 pages as well. That will give you some versatility in how you use them! You could even do both!

At some point my computer will need upgrading, a new os will be released and CS3 won't work for me. Or I might get a new camera  and my raw files won't work.

Paying a monthly fee is out for me at the moment. Not having the option of accessing the files on my computer that I have created with Adobe if I did join the cloud and not want to continue doesn't seem like a good choice either.

So.....

Does it make sense to change to TIFF in case I need to use an alternative to adobe at some point?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to jump in and get my feet wet with hybrid projects. I have a project in mind that would involve me printing out some digital paper and then mod podging it (that is a real phrase, right?) it to a cardboard-y like container.

Obviously, using my ink jet printer is out, since it will be one big hot mess when I apply to mod podge. I don't want to use photo paper, since it's too thick and I need to do a bit folding and creasing.

I was thinking of uploading the papers to a flash drive and taking it in to Office Depot or Staples and asking if they could do some laser prints of them. I know they don't do 12 x 12 exactly, but I thought they did prints in something like 13 x 19, or something like that. Has anyone done this before? Or do you have better suggestions? I'm hoping for something that is closer to the weight of traditional patterned paper and has more of a flat finish rather than a glossy one.

TIA
