I bought a quart of buttermilk for Jasmine's birthday cake. I used some of it for some homemade ranch dressing...but I have some left. What else can I do with it?
Pancakes...anything else???
definitely pancakes, but you can use it in place of almost any milk to give somethign a little more tang in baking. You can also freeze it if you need to.

I have no recipes, but you can marinate chicken in it. I think I saw Nigella doing this the other day. It's supposed to make the chicken really soft.

Mimi sent me a link to a recipe for buttermilk chocolate chip pancakes. Let me find it...http://www.eeecooks.com/recipes/2002.../pancakes.html
I was going to try it this week but forgot the buttermilk at the store. lol
ooh, my hubby makes the most fabulous Buttermilk mashed potatoes. I think it's an Alton Brown Recipe... gotta love him!
Off to see if I can find it.....
On Daniela's suggestion, I did some searching and found this:
Warm Chicken Ranch Wraps that I think I'll make for dinner. YUMMM!
I always marinate cut up chicken in buttermilk and an egg (plus a little garlic powder) and then later hand batter the nuggets (flour, bread crumbs, teeny bit of baking powder, teeny bit of salt) before frying...YUM! The buttermilk makes the whole dish. It softens (tenderizes, I guess) the chicken and gives it a little tang. hmmm...might have to make those tomorrow!
