Art Journaling & Mixed Media LOVE!

(Goodness--can you tell that I got on Pinterest this morning and have not gotten a single thing done today? I love vacation days.)

So I was looking for inspiration for my art journal. I'm a big fan of most everything Karen does. I love her art journal pages. But my own pages were really lacking. They were just painted. I needed some help.

I found Christy Tomlinson.

Yeah, yeah. I know. I've heard of her. She has those cool art chicks. But I didn't know that she had tutorial videos on her site! I figured you had to pay for a class to get to see her in action. LOL!

I first found two videos on My Craft Channel (Episode 2 is great!).

Then I found these on her blog! This one is a lot like the My Craft Channel videos, but more condensed (and with more ideas):



This one is great because she shows you her process from start to finish while she plays with a new kit:



And she has more to watch. iDie.

Well, I am full of ideas now. That's not a problem anymore. Now the problem is that anything in the house is going to be subject to stamping and smooshing on my pages!

Another fun person for me to watch is...
Donna Downey. She is energetic and talks a lot about what she is doing. Lots of videos on her site. Very inspiring.

Karen is awesome! That reminds me that I need to photograph and upload some paper layouts from earlier this year that she inspired... ah--tomorrow.

Yeah I saw a post months ago on Mari's blog that linked to Christy's blog.....after spending hours pouring over her videos I became obsessed with Mixed Media. I've done all of Christy's classes.....love her She Art Classes especially. Of course my designing productivity did go down there for awhile because all I wanted to do is play with my art supplies.

Nicole... I woke up today full of drawing inspiration. I sketched a few girls in my junk notebook and Isabelle has been drawing GERRRULLLZ all day. She had me drawing them on her doodle sketch thingy in the car today. hahaha DH does not get this at all... he took one look and said... her hair is more flippy on one side than the other. :O shedddup Alan!

Val... New brushes? I am intrigued!

Mari.. swoon! Crushing and stuff! It really sings to me! I especially like the vertical musical notes. SUPER WORK!!
