      Jeanne Crain (1925-2003)was born in Barstow,California in 1925.The daughter of a high school English teacher and his wife,Jeanne was moved to Los Angeles not long after her birth.After her high school career,Jeanne enrolled at UCLA to study drama.At the age of 18, Jeanne won a bit part in Fox Studio's film entitled Banana split (1943) and a small contract.She won the "Miss Camera Girl of 1942" title in Long Beach, Florida,and given a contract by Fox.By the time she left Fox studios in 1956,she was making $3,500 a week ($1,00 in 1956 had the same buying power as $8.42 in 2012 = 18,970 in 2012).Annual inflation over this period was 3.88%.).Her final film was as Clara Shaw in 1972's:“Skyjacked” is a 1972 disaster film starring Charlton Heston.In the early 1960s she was one of many conservative actors who spent their time fervently fighting for the Republican cause.Others included James Stewart, Walter Pidgeon, Donna Reed, Jerry Lewis, Wendell Corey.Jeanne died of a heart attack in Santa Barbara.
